Eusau Laguerre
(pronounced;
E'zo la-GARE') was born in 1962 in Cap Haitian, Haiti. His father,
a mason by trade, eventually moved his growing family to the small, historic
town of Milot. Eusau's parents, believers in Christ raised their seven
children in the knowledge of the scriptures from a young age. After high
school Eusau studied to become an architect while supporting himself with
his colorful oil paintings sold in tourist markets. Unfortunately Haiti's
desperately poor economy had little room for an aspiring architect. Mennonite Central Committee provided much needed jobs to a handful of young, underpriviledge men.
Under his leadership and training this group of artisans produced beautiful hand carved jewelry that would be exported and sold throughout the US and Canada. Eusau quickly became regarded as a gifted and trustworthy facilitator throughout the missionary community in Haiti.
Today Eusau serves as coordinator the childrens education funding program for Manna International Relief and Development. Eusau also continues to assist numbers of foreign workers in a variety of capacities including interpretor, mission team coordinator, and project manager.
